Challenge

An old non scalable football system which was managing some part of UAEFA operations based on client server technology and was unable to provide quick services to clubs. The existing system had lots of duplications, issues in storing and retrieving data, generating reports. Managing, tracking & recording competitions/ tournaments manually were time consuming and it was getting difficult to handle day to day operations. Different elements like clubs, coaches, players, referees, match commissioners, football fans, media, etc. make the art of managing football quite a challenging one indeed. To enable all the elements to work together in harmony, without repeating the work or wasting valuable time and resources, UAEFA decided to build a system (Football Managing System) that can manage all the football-related work on a single unified platform with ease.

SOLUTIONS

The solution "FA NET" is a bilingual centralized system built on .NET technology, tailored to manage local competitions, national teams, and various tournaments. Microvision exclusively customized this unique solution for UAE FA, addressing their evolving requirements.including the below:

  • Modular System Overview

The system comprises nine modules: clubs, competitions, national teams, e-services, persons (players, officials, referees, observers, agents), financial, medical, reports, digital signatures, and card printing.

The project resulting in significant measurable results including.

  1. FA NET received positive feedback from players, referees, match commissioners, media, and the public. The project was initiated in January 2011 and completed in December 2013, executed in phases to ensure smooth data migration. The new online system provided mobility and anytime, anywhere data access, replacing the previous offline internal system. Despite some challenges, Microvision's support team efficiently resolved hurdles, ensuring seamless game management and client satisfaction.
  2. UAE FA strives for continuous improvement and expansion of services through FA NET. They aim to enhance their connection with fans and players by adding new features. Microvision's attentive approach and ability to meet client requirements have positioned them as a leading provider in the industry, fueling the ongoing success of the partnership.

The Client

The United Arab Emirates Football Association is the governing body of football in the United Arab Emirates. The UAE FA was established in 1971 and was affiliated to the FIFA in 1974; it has had an excellent record since its foundation at the Gulf, continental and international levels. 34 clubs are registered with UAE FA. The senior football national team made one World Cup appearance, in 1990 in Italy, won the Gulf Cup in 2007 and the Gulf Cup in 2013; the youth national team claimed the AFC U-19 Cup in 2008.
